Frequently Asked Questions

I need pricing on my wedding flowers – can you give that to me over e-mail?

Yes and no. Flowers have a very wide range of pricing, from 50 cents a stem to over $25 a stem. Even the style of design can make a difference in pricing, some of the more artistically designed natural arrangements take much longer and a keen eye to develop, making them cost more than a single flower type placed in a simple vase. I recommend clients start with a total budget number, anywhere from 5-15% of your total wedding budget, and work with us to decide the best way to allocate the total budget on your needs. You should really come in for a consultation to get an accurate quote of exactly what you’d like.

Do you have a minimum package price?

Poppy Floral is equipped to handle events of all sizes, from bouquets only to an elaborate custom design large enough to fill any Boston ballroom. We do hold minimums for events that take us farther out from the Boston area, such as Cape Cod, The Berkshires, and into Vermont & New Hampshire due to the time commitment from our staff.

*Please note that for wedding packages of $1,500 or less we now offer in-studio pick-up only on the morning of your wedding.

What/who should I bring to a consultation?

Poppy Floral recommends you bring any images you’ve seen of flowers, arrangements, colors, and any other ideas that you’re thinking of for your event. You’re also welcome to bring along a trusted member of your family or bridal party to help with decisions, although we find a too crowded consultation table can result in too many opinions – bringing along just one extra person is typically the most productive.

Can you do a mock-up of my centerpiece?

We reserve mock-up’s for event packages of $5,000 or more, as they typically require more detailed construction and coordination with additional design details such as custom linens, specialized containers, etc. Mock-ups are done approximately 4-5 weeks prior to the wedding, to allow for as accurate and in-season flowers as possible.

Can our guests take home all of the arrangements and containers?

This can vary by event. Simple centerpiece containers are typically included with arrangement costs, and are welcome to be taken home by guests at the end of the evening. More elaborate items, such as lanterns, stands, and oversized vases/containers, including any LED lights, votives, or candle holders, are not to be taken by guests at the end of the evening. All rental items will be clearly stated in your event contract.

I saw this amazing arrangement/concept in a photo, but you didn’t have something similar on your site – can you still make it?

Absolutely. Life’s too short to do the same thing every time – we love a challenge, and love when client’s throw unique ideas our way. Whether it’s a custom metal ceremony arch, a 10 foot flower wall, or 50 handmade burlap lanterns, count us in!
